Security Gateway

A Security Gateway Module (SGW) is an advanced digital security system integrated into modern vehicles that acts as a protective firewall between the vehicle’s external diagnostic port (OBD-II) and its internal control unit networks. Introduced under EU Regulation 2018/858, security gateways protect vehicle electronics from unauthorised access, safeguarding critical systems from potential cyber threats and hacking attempts.

STEP 2: Register Your Tool

Register your LAUNCH diagnostic tool and activate your SGW licence.

STEP 3: Unlock and Diagnose

Connect to the vehicle as normal. When the system detects an SGW-protected vehicle, simply log in with your credentials when prompted. Full diagnostic access is instantly granted.
